Shop in Elkhart to replace xite radio

I will be in Nappanee mid oct. was wondering if anyone knows of a stero shop in Elkhart or surrounding area that could be recommended to rid myself of factory installed xite radio?

Crutchfield. There are lots of great Apple CarPlay options that have a 6.2” (approx - it varies) screen, lots of options, some with CD players for $100 or so more, that will run nav, music, whatever off your android or Apple smart device, assuming the Xite is 2 din.

Prices for decent stuff seem to start around $300 and go up as far as you want - $1500 for a really nifty Alpine, $500 for a great Kenwood, $300 for a decent Sony.

I would choose the brand based on an attempt to simply plug in to existing wires so if you have a Clarion in your dash call them, tell them your model number and see what they say. Regardless you’ll likely do better with Crutchfield or similar than local car (or buggy) stereo shop in Nappanee or Elkhart.

I like this one:

I just went thru this exercise. There are a few things to look at on the purchase of your new unit that the Exite has and most (all that I looked at) car units don't. RV specific nav and the ability to use the nav on the front TV. You may also have to add an on/off switch as many car units have a fan running anytime the ignition is on. Newmar wires the Exite to be always on so it can be used when parked without having the RV ignition on.
I got a Pioneer unit. Changing from the Excite was quite simple.

If you get one with Apple CarPlay you can use an app for RV specific nav.

I replaced the Xite with the Kenwood 994S. It was pretty much a direct replacement. It has Garmin GOS, but not RV GPS. They make a more expensive model, with the RV GPS. I've never had a need for the RV GPS, but that's just me.

I installed the same unit that Dutch Star Don did. It took me less than an hour(without pulling a new gps cable to the roof). I can’t believe Newmar installs a unit without car play. Car play gives you so many options for using different music and gps apps. This is an easy install and any car audio shop can do it.
