Shore Power charge Chassis Batteries

Should shore power charge my chassis batteries? Please note, my battery boost switch is not working. 2017 DutchStar 4054

I don't think it will. The boost relay is what ties the battery banks together.

Yes, the battery isolation monitor (BIM) should charge the chassis batteries when on shore power.

Where would the BIM be located. I can check for voltage in and out.
Thank you for your help. Is the battery boost problem related?

The BIM is mounted on the wall behind a plastic panel...behind the power cord reel.

Note the mfg. part number and google the manual for that part. It will describe the parameters that must be met for it to close the relay. Time, voltage, etc... if all the parameters are met..,but it's not connecting, it may need to be replaced.

Picture disoriented by irv2 for confusion...

Even without a voltmeter...if you compare voltage readings on the digi-level panel for house and chassis..you can easily tell when they are connected.

If the boost switch doesn't work, the relay may be bad. Both the boost switch and BIM should be able to close the relay.

Thanks to everyone for all the information. Problem solved, battery cable was not hooked up when delivered. Found the cable laying in the chassis battery compartment with electrical tape covering the end.
