Shout out for good service

Hi - We recently made two trips to the Speedco in Franklin, KY. One was for the required change out of rear axle lube at 5000 miles and the other was for replacement of the original front shocks with the revised ones. Both times the service was excellent, the mechanics were knowledgeable and pleasant and the charges were right on the mark. An excellent shop and I'd highly recommend them. One of the best Speedco shops I have been to.

Interesting, I had never heard of having to change out the rear axle lube at 5,000 miles.

How much did that cost?

Hi - Thanks 007 for the reminder. It has been done.
Arch - The Spicer manual for my rear axle requires it when the initial fill was done with mineral based lube. Spartan uses that type lube. If synthetic was used then the 5000 mile change can be disregarded. Interestingly after that change the interval is the same for mineral or synthetic. Sort of kills the incentive for the extra cost of synthetic. Speedco charged me $90. Sure better than hand pumping 18 quarts and smelling like gear oil for two weeks!
