Shower Hose

First time I used shower in our new coach, when I turned on the water one of the fittings broke apart and I was only on pump pressure. Obviously it was a defective part (chrome plated plastic). My dealer ordered a new one and wouldn't you know it, when I installed it, one of the fittings broke while hand tightening it.

Not sure if I want another one. Has anyone else had a problem with your shower hose fittings and if so, what did you do.

Is it the faucet knob handle or screw fitting for shower hose?
You maybe able to change to upgrade shower setup with shower slide on wall.

Wow, over 60 reads and 1 comment - I must be the only one with the problem. 007 - what keeps breaking is the screw fitting on the hose end, I should have clarified that. My feeling is the chrome plated plastic is brittle from the plating process, a condition quite common with that particular manufacturing system. Maybe I ran into a bad batch ! Have ordered another hose from dealer, will treat this one with kid gloves.

I've replaced my shower head hose with one I purchased in a builder's surplus store and the shower head. I think you can get them in any of the big box home improvement stores.

Go to Lowes and buy a strechable chrome hose for under $20. Replace your present shower head with an Oxygenics shower head. You will not regret either purchase.

Shower hose is a standard plumbing part 1/2 inch IPT threads on the connector.. You can get a all-metal replacement at any decent plumbing department

Thanks all for the tips. Ordered Oxygenics shower head today - hopefully that will have a better hose. If not, will take advice and pick up hose @ Home Depot.

Follow-Up: Received and installed my Oxygenics shower head the other day. Appears to be much better quality construction than my standard shower head, especially the hose. Will be using it this week-end as we have a short trip to Indiana scheduled (grandson @ Purdue). If it works half as good as it looks, I will be extremely happy.
