We always put the seat down in our 18 LA when traveling since it will come down when traveling. When not traveling to keep the seat up we have found a drop or two of Supper glue helps adding just enough friction to allow the seat to stay up. Try one drop at a time. Just did this on the arm rest of the desk chair I am using right now when it didn't want to stay in up position.

Thanks for the replies but I didn't make myself clear. I put it down traveling also but my problem is it won't stay up while showering.

take your hinge screws out, pull the seat from each side & add a thin nylon flat washer to each side. Reassemble & tighten hinge screws back up enough to where you have decent resistance moving the seat up & down. This should hold it up while showering.

Maybe just remove it if you don't use it.
We have one that only goes down when we wipe down the shower. I'm thinking about removing it and just putting sealer on the screws, and done.

We have the same problem. The shower seat will not stay up while showering. Someone mentioned adding super glue to add friction. But where?
Any other suggested solutions? I was thinking maybe some clear silicone inside the chrome trim where the arm travels but not sure the silicone would adhere sufficiently.
I would remove the entire shower seat assembly but don't want the unsightly screw holes in the wall.

Good thought, but nothing on the wall to attach a bungie cord to.

Suction cup for shower wall and fasten bungee to it with a hook?
Harbor freight might be your friend.

I had our 20 ,new aire at the mother ship last july and the seat is not adjustable. I left the piece of duct tape I had put next to the moving arm so as to act as a wedge and keep the seat up right. Was not sure if a new seat would solve the issue.
