Shower too hot

Hi all,
I have a strange problem all of a sudden. The shower is entirely too hot. I have turned the diesel burner off and only use one electric burner and the water is still too hot.

The pressure is very low in the shower and that obviously could be the problem (no or limited cold water for the mixing valve). It has always been low but not this low. Turning on the pump while connected to city water did not increase the pressure.

Pressure everywhere else appears to be normal to a little less than normal. I removed my house filter thinking it was clogged but that is not the case.

Newmar uses Delta Shower Faucets and I will switch them to Moan if that will help.

Any thoughts would be appreciated and how to gain access to the mixing valve and plumbing supply lines would be helpful as well.

Could the cold water line have some dirt in the shower valve inlet?
Sounds like the hot water has enough GPM. The cold is affected. So, the problem is after the cold is split to feed the hot water heater. ie: at the shower valve.
Are the sinks working ok?

Make sure outside shower controls are off.

Yep, sinks work and that's another reason I was thinking about replacing the shower valve.

is the outside shower equally difficult to dial into a comfortable temperature? Since its controls are usually separate hot and cold, you also might be able to get a sense of the pressure behind each -cold and hot- and have a better sense of a diagnosis the problem.

I’m guessing balance valve in the shower faucet. FYI most major suppliers have lifetime warranty. Take it apart , look for bad seals or o rings. Home Depot have kits to replace , they will supply for free.

Mineral deposits on the cold side could be the culprit.

Not familiar with your coach. Access could be via a removable panel in the back of a kitchen cabinet.

Yep, highly likely it is in the mixing valve. Stuff gets stuck in the bleed valves. Take it apart and clean it. Inspect for other wear and sealing parts.

The cold faucet could also be a problem. Possibly both mixing valve and cold valve were plugged or partially plugged by deteriorating tubing, or seal particles.

Shower too hot

Have to ask, Is the shower flow the same for the full hot setting vs the full cold setting? A bucket and timer may help.

Yes they are the same. Very low pressure and too hot

That's what I'm going to do

The other sinks and toilets all work as usual.

Have you removed the shower head and flushed the pipe out. the water restrictor could be clogged in the shower head restricting flow and then the mixer can not adjust itself. You can soak it in some CLR. Agree to remove mixer valve and clean and inspect it. NO need to replace it. It is residential plumbing not the cheap RV ones.
Good Luck
