Side mirror out of adjustability

How do I adjust my power side mirror after it has moved all the way in one direction, and it still isn't correct? Can I take the mirror apart and tighten the motor attachment?

Hi - There are set screw type adjustments at the base of the mirror case. Use those to get the mirror roughly adjusted and then fine tune with the electric control. Be sure to tighten the set screws well so they don't wander.

I think that the correct answer is to adjust the mirror housing itself. It uses a 14 MM socket (I THINK), Loosen that until the mirror moves, then adjust it accordingly. Tighten it up and you're good to go.

Here's how I've always adjusted my mirrors. First, imagine a string running the length of the coach, touching the side of the coach and extending past the front of the mirror. The inner edge of the mirror head should just touch the string, by adjusting the arm. You can actually use a string if necessary. This gets the mirror as close to the body (narrowing the coach width) yet gives you full use of the mirror.

Once that adjustment is made, loosen the head housing, typically three allen screws. Adjust the head so that you get back your mirror movement. So if the mirror glass is pinned to one side of the housing, turn the housing in that same direction.

Keep turning the housing until you get the glass both pointing in the direction you want AND the glass is centered in the housing, same gap on both sides. This will take a few adjustments and is easer with a helper.

Once done, the glass should look equally set in the housing (same gaps both sides). Once this is done, make sure the head is vertical front to rear and side to side.....then tighten the allen screws. The vertical adjustment is made by removing the cap under the mirror head and loosening the bolt (typical mirror).

Which way won't it go far enough for your satisfaction? You can adjust the arm in or out and you can adjust the mirror head right or left, but not up or down.

I've always adjusted my mirrors according to what it is important to me, to see. That would be the vehicles behind me, the outside edges of both rear tires, and the outside edge of the right front tire. I can look out the window at the driver front tire if needed.
My mirror arms are adjusted out so the mirror heads are about 3"-4" out from the side of the coach. I took a walk around an RV park one day and observed about a dozen coaches and that was a popular position. That position gives me a view of the outside edges of the tires allowing me to position the tires (front or rear) next to a cement slab or curb, and not have a tire half way up on a curb really crunching the sidewall.
I adjust the mirror all the way in toward the coach, then adjust the head "in or out" according to where I want the "most in" position to be. If you set the mirror in the center position of the head, then adjust the head to see the traffic behind you, all the "in" adjustment, which is half the movement of the mirror, will show you nothing but the side of the coach. I would prefer to have the mirrors field of vision, out as far as possible, while the max "in" position being my tires.
Just giving you some ideas for maximum benefit from the mirrors.
