Side view mirrors keep coming loose

Does anyone have any tricks to keep the large chrome side view mirrors from loosening? I straighten mine and make sure all three allen screws are tight but after traveling for a few hours it seems they start to lean over again. I have a 2012 Ventana that was purchased new earlier this year. Tried calling Newmar today and North Trail RV and couldn't get Newmar Customer Service to answer or anyone at North Trail to call me back. I have called North Trail iin Fort Myers, Fl where I bought the mh now on two different occasions with an issue and so far no call back on either occasion. It's funny before you buy how they tell you just give us a call and well help you with any questions or problems but after you buy your actual experience is different than what is promised. Newmar on the other hand has always been helpful but they must have been extremely busy today.

Use Loctite on the threads of the allen screws.
There are three types of bonding, Red, Blue and green.

I took the allen screw out and drilled a very small punch hole in the round ball that holds the mirror using a smaller bit, being careful not to damage thread. Then use loctite on the allen screw; never moved again.

Don't use Loctite on the screws once you do you this will destroy the mirror. My motor home had the same problem and there was a Brochure that came with it. It showed how to adjust and set the mirror bracket. If you know the mirror brand I would suggest contacting the manufacture of the mirror. But don't use Loctite. You will be sorry.

The allen screws are only set screws for the locking nut.

The collar you see at the base of the head is what tightens movement.

Loosen the allen screws, then with a long punch tap the collar clockwise. Won't have to go much.

Learned that the hard way.

John --

Are you talking about tapping the inside collar --which shows a slot in the picture you provided? Or are you talking about using the tap on the outside collar????

I had this very same problem with our '11 Ventana and could never figure out the fix. No problems with our '13 Dutch Star, but would like to know the info in case Floppy Mirror Syndrome rears its ugly head again.

Thanks.

Jeez, where were you 5 hours ago.

One more PDF going in the file box.

Mine must not have been lined up correctly. Because mine spun a little bit (maybe 1/8 turn) then tightened right down. Dumb luck I guess.

Thanks for the correction.

I do have a loooong Bookmark list going on ten years but the latest PDF is from COM_NET LINK it takes some reading in all the links in there to find your way around and remember where you saw the information.
I have posted some material in the QT's links for high lights but we would fill every thing up with all there is.
There is info in there for each year coach model and related to your year coach. "CATALOG MODEL YEAR"
I post this back in 2011 and moved it to the NEWMAR CORP sticky for reference.

Posts reporting North Trail RV totally ignoring customers once the rig has been sold, seems to be emerging as a rather common and repetitive experience around here.

Looking to buy a new Newmar within the next few weeks, North Trail is definitely off of my list!

While Newmar claims to take pride in their selection of dealers, the facts suggest otherwise!

I wonder why some people claim total satisfaction after the sale and others claim as bad as 'no call back' (even towards the exact same dealer). Could it be the 'approach' some customers take towards getting service....

My approach was I called their Customer Service department and left a message on the reps phone which is what he asked me to do. Yesterday we emailed our salesman to let him know we had no phone call returned by the service department and immediately the Customer Service Manager called who was very helpful. He gave us his phone number and said in the future don't hesitate to call him directly if we ever had another question or problem arise.
