Simulator Removal

I recently purchased a 2005 Kountry Star on a W24 workhorse chassis. I want to remove the front simulators. I assume a tool was provided to do this but I don't know where on the coach it is stored.

Anybody know if one is provided and where to find it

If the dealer didn't take it, it will have a T handle with the socket on end to fit over the lug nuts with the dimple, there are two of them on the hub cap.

Is there a storage location in the coach? I checked under the hood but didn't see anything.

On my Class A it was in one of the basement storage bins..

However, it is junk (personal opinion)

Get a proper size socket (Sears/Any good tool store) extension and wrench head, can be ratchet, breaker bar, flexible, I use an impact wrench myself. Sizes vary depending on model of chassis.. My socket is actually one size too large, OK for the simulator but NOT for wheel nut removal.

In our Winnebago MH, it was in one of the underneath storage bins clipped to the wall. In our current MH, it was laying in the storage bin behind the entry door. Your wrench might have grown legs and walked off when at the dealers lot. I believe a deep socket, 1 1/2" to 1 5/8" size will work or possibly a large crescent wrench if the simulators screw on. If they push on, use a large pair of pliers.

I used an old (grandfather's) adjustable plumbing wrench to get it off. I did find the 1-9/16" will fit as I took one of the nuts to Tractor Supply. Unfortunately, they didn't have one in stock. Will have to check another Tractor Supply next weekend.

The actual lug nuts require a 33mm socket.
