Singing the Praises of Midway RV Center in Grand Rapids

Just wanted to let Newmar owners and potential owners know how great this place is.

We have just celebrated our 1 year full-timing anniversary and our 1 year ownership of our 2018 4052 Dutch Star.

We never owned an RV before and had only rented a Class C once, 25 years ago, before we purchased this coach. So we were working without a net and really didn't know a thing.

We spent the first 6 months on the road within 2 or 300 miles of the dealer because we didn't know what we didn't know and we had heard that if things are going to happen they usually happen in that first year. So we wanted to be close by in case of failure.

Well, needless to say, we didn't have any major issues this first year. There were a couple of recalls that needing attending. But they weren't problematic on our coach. We have had a lot of "normal" issues that will develop driving a 20 ton coach at 65 miles an hour. But that was it.

But learning and understanding how everything worked (which we are still learning) was an everyday challenge. Our sales guy, Chad DeMaat, has been amazing. I would email him questions, send him pictures. I would break things....and he patiently walked me through what needed to be done, and how to do it, often several times. He has been right there with us this whole year.

We just spent 4 days there getting 3 1/2 pages of little things, fixed and maintained and Dave Witjer and his team in service fixed every little thing and the coach is back to just about perfect.

Because we're driving up to Alaska this summer, we are actually going to be primitive camping for the first time. Chad, spent two hours with us, after closing, going through everything in the coach about using the Magnum system and the generator, heat and water etc. when primitive camping and also showed us how to lube up everything we should know how to lube and what type of lube to use!

So if you are looking for another coach or need service if you're in the Grand Rapids area, you can't do better than Midway. A great group of people who go out of their way to make sure you and your coach are ready for the road.

I totally agree with you my is a 2017 4054 new to us, purchased from Kyle Walcott, Techs Bryan and Ryan, purchased in January could not drive it home because of the weather and just returned to pick it up this past week worth every mile of the 700 mile drive from Delaware. Fantastic people had my magne shade and tow package installed, and come on how about Randy? He details the coach’s like they are his own great job.

Midway brokered the purchase of our coach from a private owner. Made it so EZ.

I have been very happy with Midway, and Chad DeMaat. Very responsive well after the sale. No surprise they were awarded the diamond again this year.

We also praise the service that we got from them on our purchase. I would have to say that there was not one thing they could have done better. If we ever purchase again we would drive half way across the US to get this wonderful service. The sales and service department was so professional and great to work with. Thank you Kyle and Brian.

Midway is the place. Chad, Dave, Ryan and Bryan are the best. The service guys give the factory service center a run for their money. It is comforting to know that these guys have your back. They make you feel like family!

I haven’t purchased yet as we are still trying to figure out gas vs diesel and floorplans but every email to Kyle has been responded to quickly, even requests to measure table, battery tray and bathroom floor sizes.

Chad helped us a lot when ordering our Canyon Star last year and we picked it up there last May. The entire process went very well.

We've had great service since and will be taking our rig up there next week for the last chance to get warranty work done.

It's a blessing to have a good dealer nearby.
