Slide controller amperage?

Hi Folks
Last March I took my 2013 Canyon star 3953 to nirvc Las Vegas for slide service and adjustment. The Tech said he turned down the amperage to the bedroom off door slide so it would no longer cause the trans torque bushing to slip. Well he adjusted the amperage too low. Now my wife has to hold the extend retract button while I help strong arm the slide in or out. Anyone know how to adjust the amperage back up?
TIA
Milo

There is an adjustment screw on the controller for the slide. Newmar also has a document that shows how to adjust. Don’t turn the screw too much because it can cause issues. Try to adjust 1/8 turn at a time until the slide operates correctly.

Not familiar with your specific coach so I don’t know where your controller is located.

Milo,
You do understand that a properly “torqued” Trans Torque Bushing will not slip!! When properly torqued, when the slide hits “limit” the Amps spike and the controller shuts down... If your bushing is slipping, you might want to think about getting it properly torqued.

Well, the Newmar tech at NIRVC seemed to think reducing the amperage was the best solution. There is no slippage on the trans torque bushing. the slide just stops half way and I have to strong arm it the rest of the way, as it is not getting enough power. I located the control box but don't see any adjustment screw as mentioned by vettenuts. do I have to remove the cover?
TIA
Milo

Any chance you can shoot a photo of the controller? It is usually a little plastic screw. Here's a photo of one of mine, this is the controller for the large slide with the voice that tells you to check the clearance (driver's seat) before moving the slide. Yours won't have the voice seen in the photo. I drew an arrow to the type of adjustment you are looking for if it's similar.

He could have a simple c-storm LMC30 Rev B controller which doesn’t have an adjustment. What it does have is a learn mode that “teaches” the controller how much power is needed to move the slide in and out. I was having issues with my kitchen slide and after going through the learn process seems to be working. Knock on wood...

Is this what you have? If so there is a pin jumper next to the large plug. Pull it and put it back. The display should indicate learn mode. Run the slide out then back in. It should go back to normal ops.

The stand alone controller shows pot ,red, in upper right hand corner and is drawn on controller.
You have adjustable pots, their red, for current increase for motors on those controllers.
That being said do not get carried away and adjust only in small increments until slide moves freely to open or close.
A over adjustment can cause damage to slide and brackets to stop movement of slide opening or closing.
This Slide thread will explain the different slides and problems that can arise if there is a problem, this link is in the large sticky.
Select the correct control needing adjustment and leave others alone if they are OK, YOU WILL NEED WIFE TO PUSH THE BUTTON but only to activate the slide you increase the pot clockwise in small adjustments.
An eyeglass screwdriver should fit in slot for pot to be turned may need a couple adjustments until slide moves freely both ways.
