Slide Education

Before asking what's likely a mundane, repetitive question, I do a forum search and check the "stickys." I thought I scored when I found "Newmar QUICK TIPS & EASY MODS # 3 -- PLUS OLD COACH's," because the headlines were spot-on for my needs. Sadly, most of the pertinent links were broken, so I'm back to square one.

I'm trying to learn how to maintain my slides, and adjust and repair when necessary. Any ideas for a centralized source of info for such a quest? Thanks.

2x/yr I lube the slide seals and follow up w/303 UV Protectant an hour or two after. I went w/the gallon size since I also use 303 to treat my awnings and slide toppers. I also lube all moving parts I can reach (inside and out) w/LPS 1 silicone lubricant.

Would also recommend tightening your slide motor bolts or modifying.

I cannot vouch for the Stage 8 bolts as I did not use them, but the video made me aware of the problem. Recommend watching at 1.5x speed.

BTW, I find Google better than using the forum's search feature. Type "keywords irv2"

Good luck

Before installing Stage 8, search for the post describing failures even with that method. Stage 8 will fix turning bolts, but not stretching threads.

I haven't seen any posts discussing failure of the SLS fix (see stickies). I have personally installed this fix and can vouch for the results. Lower cost. Permanent fix.

I found Marks information to be very valuable .. in that video I think he discovers an other problem with the Metal Cog Track .. apparently it broke a few of the self tapping screws that hold that Track on ... I'm searching for a preventative measure to avoid this problem .. I bet it is more prevalent than we might know.???
