Slide (Inside) Gasket / Weatherstripping Photos

Hi,

Would few people please share a photo of what their slide's inside gasket and/or weatherstripping looks like, in particular the 2015 Ventana LE 3436. I'd think (I know, that could be a problem) it would be the same on other Ventana LEs, Ventanas, and maybe even more Newmar models...

Ours is a simple foam weatherstripping, not anykind significant rubber type seal as I've had on other motor homes.

Thanks...

I have the same foam stripping on my Canyon Star. Some of it has fallen down inside the lip of the slide. I thought about using double sided tape to secure it, but have not gotten around to it yet. I would attach a photo, but mine is in the shop for some minor warranty work. Thanks for reminding me, I will call and add that to the list. I don't really think that is the main seal, I think it is a noise or dust barrier. I know it would not hold water back.

I am in the process of replacing my weatherstripping and not especially pleased about it. I had a Newmar tech visit at the Tampa RV show and asked him about a fluttering noise that I get at the top weather seal when a vent fan is on or it is windy. Pretty annoying and getting worse.

The tech proceeded to pull out about 50% of the foam weatherstripping saying this is supposed to press up against the rubber seal. He said the stripping had come loose and was not applying pressure to the rubber seal. After checking with their supply truck he returned to inform that they did not have replacement weatherstripping with them in Tampa, and I would have to take it in for service or replace it myself. It would have been nice had he checked *before* he ripped out large lengths of the foam stripping...

I have found a size close to the original foam stripping at Home Depot and will be installing it shortly -- probably using glue instead of two sided tape though.

Ours has peeled away on both bedroom slides. I am torn as to how to replace it because I want to do this once, not often.

I think I am going to clean the back side (where it was previously attached) with lacquer thinner, then install THIS weather strip.
