Question Slide motor won't stop

2000 dutchstar
the bedroom slide would stop early sometimes unless you held down the button and the motor would not shut off when the slide is all the way out or all the way in unless you push the button again.
I adjusted the controller a very slight turn and the slide now goes out or in without stopping midway but the motor keeps running until you push the button again.
I adjusted the controler again a another very small amount but still must push button to stop motor after the slide is completely in or out.
I'm worried about adding more adjustment to controller. Could there be another reason the motor doesn't stop after slide completely out or in?

Sounds to me that your start & stop button is not springing back to normal.
If you look in this spec of Newmar slides they have a write up on the problem, Section 12.03 pg #5.
If the spring has lost its tension you may need a new switch.
You are right not to make more adjustments to control board.

not sure I understand the diagram of the switch. I will pull the switch tomorrow and see if it makes more sense to me. probably just order new one and go from there.
thanks for the info, I don't know why I didn't think to look at the switch

All the controller does is sense the high draw of a stalled motor and shut down. If the switch is held down or is faulty it won't stop.
