Slide out blues

hello everyone this is my first thread so here it goes i have a 2007 essex and i am having slide issues with the kitchen slide on the pass side. my issue is i hold the slide button and the locking arms release but instead of the slide going out the locking arms return back to the locked position. i have 13 volts going to my control board and i tried replacing the control board and got no results. i cut the wires on my motor and hooked it up directly to check it and it moved the slide in and out with no issues. hooked it back up and the locking arms do the same thing they just release and then go back in and lock and the slide just doesnt move. any ideals for troublshooting would be helpfull thanks in advance !!!!

Well if you have an Essex, most likely my slide is nothing like yours. I have a button for my locking mechanism and a button to deploy the slide and one button to retract it. Any way.....You tested the motor and said it was fine. You said you "Tried" replacing the control board...I assume you replaced it, and that didn't change anything. So now the only thing to ck (at least for my MoHo) would be the Breaker.
Does your control board have a Reset switch/s? Some can be programmed.
Also we had a problem once where we added too much weight on the slide, lol. Well the controller should have a Potentiometer that you can use to raise and decrease power as needed.
Since your lock arms seem to be different then mine, maybe you have a proximity switch or sensor, that is malfuctioning. ck them out. I'll continue looking to see what I can find.

Welcome to iRV2, great people on here willing to help you out. I'm no slide expert but have had this issue. It sounds like the proximity switch is stuck. My 2005 Dutch Star has done this on the main slide a few times. When it happens I lightly tap the locking mechanism frame area (it only takes a light tap, not hard) with a dead blow hammer or rubber mallet as soon as the lock retracts. So far it has worked every time. Hopefully this helps you out.

I just had this problem on my last trip in September. Most likely, the problem is the slideout sensor bolts are not properly aligned. You verify this by having someone operate the slideout while you are watching the lights on the controller. As the lock arms are fully retracted, both lights (LA1, LA2) will be lit. Then the slide will move.

In my case, one light was on and one was not. This happens because the sensor bolt has moved. In my case, the bolt was extended and bent and had moved so much it busted the magnetic sensor itself. Here is the newmar part info.
slide lock sensor - 53568 - PROXIMITY SWITCH

Check for bent bolts and broken sensors.

There is a newmar document detailing how to adjust the proximity switch.

FYI - When I was adjusting the bolts, I would get the locking arms to fully retract and then stop. I had to apply voltage to the locking arm motor to get them to extend and further adjust the bolt.

There is a post that I cannot find detailing someone who had this problem and had good documentation. I think the post was from around 2008.
Here are some posts that may be helpful.
