Slide out concern! Please help!
I have a 2013, 2901 Bay Star with a driver side slide (not FW) but just sofa dinette!. When I get the slide almost to the stop point I am hearing a clunking noise from the cog wheel and rail. I had not done this before and I am not sure if this is normal?? It's almost as though the slide has reached its limit so the rail stops but the cog wheel want to go into the next hole but is stopped just short (this is just a guess but I know the sound. Could someone talk to me about this and make suggestions?? I am handy (I have kept the motor mounts tight as recommended on this site and there is no obstruction in the basement area where the cog and rail work). It sounds fine coming in and going out other than that last second! Thanks, Daryl.

Would suggest have someone operate the slide out while you are looking and listening when the slide is going in and out. A number of different slide out parts can come lose or get out of adjustment and you will need to find what is causing the noise. You already did the #1 problem with slides and that is lose motor bolts to gear assembly.

Not sure what your oiling slides do not need to be oiled, never mentioned in this slide link from this larger sticky.
If you read the first link on slides you will see some information of adjusting the power pots on slide controls so the big slide rollers you have can get up the ramp to the flat floor.
What maybe going on is the pot is turned up to high and slide is putting pressure on slide rods and brackets holding them and a possible break of the welds of brackets. Their are pictures of this in links I have provided.
What you can do is back off on the pot in small increments and see if noise recedes, the pot should only be adjusted in small increments to operate the slide smoothly in operation of motor moving the slide, power to high will eventually cause problems, the pot is not for fast speed, the speed will always be slow but sure in operation.

When my slide motor bolts are loose, I get the clunking noise at the end of travel.

Did you check the plates with the holes, under the slide, where the cogs grab? Make sure none of the screws have backed out. They don't need to be lubed, but if that solved the issue, I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure t doesn't build up with dirt.

I have the solid rectangular rails with holes, But I plan to have another person running the slide for me while I watch. I can check for dirt or anything loose at that time! Thanks!!
