Slide Out Issue

Pulled slide outs in yesterday, drove about 100 miles, parked and leveled. Went to set up and the passenger living room slide won't work. By this I mean the electric locks release and almost immediately lock up. There is no movement on the wall slide.

Anybody have any suggestions or ideas?

Your locking arms have a proximity switch. They can be very sensitive. Tap on that arm and then try the slide. Both sides.

Could the proximity switch be the one on the floor?
We had an issue last year where the lock arms wouldn't work because of that switch.

No it is inside the box behind the paddle arm. Just tap on the paddle arm. That always fixed mine. I would use the wooden handle or rubber Handle end of a hammer.

Not sure if this applies to you but we were notified yesterday of recall 18V 438 on the slide outs for a slide controller. We have a 2018 DSDP

Are you running your generator to get your batteries up to 14v+?

Yes, just give the lock arms a solid rap. This is a common problem.

First, Thanks for the ideas and quick responses.
Second, we waited until we got back to our son's house to see if the suggestion would work. What we found was a broken switch and bent adjustment screw on one side. We are able to deploy by bypassing the switch. Tomorrow, I'll order a couple from Newmar so we have an extra on hand in case this happens again.

Thanks again!
