Slide out Motor

My front passenger slide out didn't seem right while bringing it in today. Upon investigation, the slideout motor mounts were all broke. All 4 of them broke off the gear box. Has anyone ever had this happen before? I assume the bolts all worked loose and the motor shifted many times breaking off the mounts. However, the slide out always seemed to work well, until today.

Does the gearbox come with the motor as one unit? I'm afraid this will be expensive.

Had the same issue on mine. Bolts worked loose and finally stripped the gears in the gearbox. New motor w/gearbox cost around $600.00.

Those of us who have been posting on this now for 3 plus years it's disappointing to hear this report. We need to share this with other Newmar owners as we travel and meet owners. Started using checking slide out motor bolt check and then using lock-tight on the 4 bolts on each motor in my seminars at rallies as far back as early 2013.
Will be doing a seminar here in Sedilia this Friday at 1PM and will be titled A to Z traveling in your Newmar motor home. Will be having a irv2 members meet and greet today here in Sedilia at 1PM for those here at Newmar Rally.

Do you think Newmar doesn’t believe in loctite or can’t afford a tube?

This really doesn’t speak well for our beloved Newmar. I’ve been in business for over 40 years and when you have an issue pop up more than once, you figure out a way to prevent it happening to your next customer. Especially when it’s so cheap to fix! Pure common sense.

I really don't know why this hasn't been addressed by Newmar. People have gone in for service and had their coaches inspected and haven't had the 4 bolts checked for torque or put lock-tight on threads. Newmar is the best but this is a weak link. Gives us something to talk with when we meet owners at RV parks or rallies.
