Same on my 2017 Ventana. I think it is due to a different slide controller manufacturer for the bedroom slide.

On my 2016 ventana none of the slides worked with the engine on. In Newmar’s “what’s new for 2019” papers they give dealers, it is noted that the jacks and slide lockout is now set off the parking brake.
Confirmed this morning on my 2019 Ventana 4269. The “preferred “ method when everything is deployed is to start the engine, air up, retract jacks, then pull slides in. Other than momentary low air buzzer there are no warning buzzers.

Slide out question while motor running?

Does the process have you off the jacks by then also? What if being off the jacks but aired up now creates a unlevel situation?

When getting ready to leave, key to ACC stow the jacks, jacks stowed start engine at fast idle to air up until regulator pops off, aired up shut engine and retract the slides. This procedure has minimized the alarms. You still get the low air buzzer until you reach over 65 PSI. Note I’m still plugged in until slides are in, one of the biggest mistakes made are operating the slides on unstable/low voltage, you may be ok when you start but battery voltage drops off and is not good for the motors, brakes and slide mechanisms, especially sides with more then one motor. I recommend always running the generator or plugging in to be safe.

My procedure is almost the same, except I always start the engine and air up prior to pulling jacks. I know I have to listen to the low air buzzer for a minute or so but I'm a big tuff guy and can handle it, besides it lets me know my low air warning is still working.
I have never camped overnight with the slides out on a site that was extremely unlevel, and probably with a FWS never would. A few degrees is no big deal IMHO with the way these slides are built.

I have seen that recommendation to air up with the jacks down, but I see a problem. If, for example, you have extended the jacks to the point that the front wheels are off the ground, you will not get air into the front air bags because the height control valve will be in the exhaust position, not the inflate position. I will continue raising the jacks first, as that has worked OK for years. But then, I don't have a FWS

This works too, but jacks maybe slower to retract with out the full weight of the MH, I also listen to the low air buzzer.

there are a dozen ways to extend retract jacks, rooms steps, fws, etc.
every mfg may have a different way of doing it. each mfg publishes an operators manual that gives the correct procedure for your particular coach. what works for one may not work for another.
all confusion can be cleared up by reading your operators manual, for your current coach.

Actually with Newmar this is incorrect, as there have been several changes made in the procedures through service bulletins. I wouldn’t begin to know what Winnebago and others recommend, I can only speak for Newmar after my experiences of owning two.

Unless the procedure changes, like it did with my coach. There was a lot of confusion when I bought my Newmar coach. The original manual was very vague and different Newmar techs and salesmen stated different procedures. Finally Newmar revised the procedure.

The equalizer jacks instruction sheet says to air up before retracting jacks. My sheet only applies to 2019 Ventana so your instruction may be different.

My 2005 Essex has the ability to silence the buzzer by depressing the "Set" button located under the speedometer. Different years and models had (or not) the ability to silence the buzzer. Mostly depended on the type of instrument cluster.

This is the exact same procedure we are using. Being rookies we have pulled in BR slide a couple times forgetting to retract jacks first.

On our new 2019 MA I can pull in all the slides with the engine running. Much better setup then before.
