Slide out Storage Tray? did you order it?

Ordering a Dutch Star 4369 & I am getting the Pass Through Storage Tray that has access from both sides.

But not sure if I want the slide out tray the is aft of that. This is the tray that is only accessible from the one side.
My thinking is that I loose about 4" in usable height & also a few inches in usable width.
YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE?

I find it extremely useful. I actually have the half tray loaded fairly heavy with tools, compressor etc. Frankly any basement compartment is hard on my back but the slide out trays help. I'll look for a picture of mine loaded as well.

Ours is just like Bill's, but you are right that you do lose some storage capacity. If you are full-time and storage is important you may not want either of these.

Went back and forth on this subject more so than any other option. When you try the fit of several common plastic bins, you quickly find out that with or without there are limits and an extra 4 inches doesn't make much a matter. Having the tray is a back saver as well as a means to keep dirt out of the storage area. In the end choose to include both trays. Would love to see pictures of how folks are using them however. (Btw, you get an extra inch under the frame rails with a Spartan Chassis!)

Didn't have them in either of our DSDP's other then the one for the cooler/freezer but the present rig came with them. Still miss the height and width of a compartment without the slides, but it does make it easier to get to stuff. I used wheeled bins in the DSDP and kept them for the Magna since they fit pretty well and leave some space beside them for odds and ends.
One of the Magna's main electrical compartments is between the frame rails, only accessible by removing a panel in the bay. Without the tray I'd have to unload everything from one side to access it. With the tray I just slide it all the way out from either side and crawl in.

-The height will not matter if you have to dig anything out from middle of storage.

We have both slide-out trays and highly recommend you get them. I have found plastic bins that fit below the center rails so I can slide out from either side. Very convenient and you don't have to duck under your slide-out rooms to get into your bins.

Bins? I found some at Costco that look pretty good, but they are not quite as tall as I'd like. What brand and vendor did you find?

I used the storage boxes in the photos below. They used to be available in all Walmarts but I had difficulty finding them so I ordered a set of 8 from Walmart online. The height is a perfect fit for the slide-out tray traveling under the frame rails on a Freightliner chassis.

I have a full width tray that slides from both sides. Due to not being able to place tall items that run into the frame rails, I would rather have two separate drawers on either side. Then shorter items could go to the back that fit under the rails, and taller items to the outside.

I thought about this, but on the ODS tray, it doesn't pull out from the bay enough to clear the slide (at least on 2017's). In contrast, the full tray does clear the FWS a decent amount.

Here is what we have done to ours I have two trays in the second bay the top holds containers for small items and my cordless tools that won't hang in the fifth bay with my other tools. We haven't had any issues holding everything and getting to it with no problems when the slides are out.
