Slide Roller Tile Protectors

Did you notice in the 2015 London Aire brochure that Newmar is offering Removable Slide Roller Tile Protectors? Has anyone seen what Newmar is offering?

I would love to see a picture of this product as I'm having a problem with the FWS rollers marking the highly polished tiles in our Essex.

Newmar recommended use of the Slicker for our Wood floors which were getting marked up however; the Slicker, Did Not Work. The SLicker has points sticking out on one side. We have since went to throw rugs for the 5 rollers to roll up on. At this time, it appears this is working and saving marks on the Hardwood floors.

On the new Comlink I found the new Tile Protectors that Newmar listed in the 2015 Essex Brochure. There are 3 sizes. The part numbers are:

Protector ABS Tile 24.5" FLTFLR; Item Number 108200
Protector ABS Tile 27.5" FLTFLR; Item Number 108200J $19.50
Protector ABS Tile 32.5" FLTFLR; Item Number 108200H

What's unique about this is that it has a lip that is inserted between the tile and "ramp" that raises the slide to floor level. I believe the theory is that this will keep the Protector from sliding as the Slide is extended or retracted.

Unfortunately, Newmar Parts doesn't have any in stock at this time.

Here's a picture.

We bought the 108200 protectors and are having a hard time with them staying in place to bring the slides in. Any suggestions on how to use them? A video perhaps? Thanks.

I tried the ones from Newmar & they were a joke!!

I made my own from 20 ga. galvanized steel that have a 3/8" lip full width that fits down in the grove between the tile & the wood ramp.

I have attached a photo of them below.

I am using 4 Newman’s Slide Protectors that have a lip on them. I have to lift the FWS just a bit to “hook” them over the edge of the floor. I do have 2 of them that will wiggle around some as the rollers don’t actually make contact with them.

Do yours have a lip on the end?

On Amazon, complaints on these for TILE floors. Apparently these are for carpet as they have "knobby grippers" on the bottom to stick into carpet to keep them from sliding, but will slide or mark on hard surfaces (just from the comments I read online, not personal experience).

Some damage has been done to our tile floors, but I have bought stair treads from Home Depot, cut off the lip and cut them in half. So far the damage has not not increased. I have not had a problem with them moving when the slide roller starts to roll over them.

Carpet tape will keep them in place while bringing the slide in. Have been using it for over 2 years now, and it's still working. Probably will have to replace it at some point in the future.
After running the slide out, we just pick them up. No residue or difficulty picking them up. -Paul
