Slide topper won’t stay in cradle
Baystar sport. Driver side slide topper. When I extend the slide, often the topper won’t stay in the center cradle. When this happens I need to climb on the roof to manipulate the roll to pop into the cradle. Am I doing something wrong? Why won’t it stay in the cradle?

Is there something holding it back, or maybe it needs some lube.

We had same problem. Newmar showed us that the cradle had bent even though we couldn’t see it until they showed us what a brand new cradle looks like.
We had them replace it, and also install a second one several feet from the original one. Now the roller never pops out.
Highly recommend replacement, and adding a second one as well.

I found this cool idea from the Tampa show:
www.truetopperusa.com
Completely removes the slide topper and all its issues with weather, rain and snow. I'm going to replace my toppers with this soon, because mine are having all sorts of issues with weathering and ice entrapment.
