Sliding door between living and bedroom

We have a 2016 Newmar ventana and the sliding door between rooms keeps coming apart. Has anyone had this issue and if so what did u add to door to stop this from happening. We reposition bottom and it works a few times then comes apart again. Thanks

It would be helpful if you better defined what "comes apart" means.

The door is two doors that slide like a pocket door. There are grooves in one door and the other door has a piece of metal that fits in the groove. The piece of metal no longer stays in groove

The grooves and metal are at the bottom of the doors

Ours came apart shortly after we took ownership of it also. I removed the bracket under the two door sections and made sure that it wasn't bent and reinstalled it and never had another problem.

"lands".....Our 2014 DS did the same thing. Some trips we would stop and it would be fine, others, it would jump the track. I knew how to fix it, but it was always an aggravation. I had to sit on the floor and finesse the bracket back into the track. Part of the issue, is that track was made from wood. I was checking our new coach and the track is metal. We deleted the glass doors in our 2019 build and ordered the solid doors, which they apparently take from the Mountain Aire. No more jumping, but you get some banging noise when walking around the coach when parked.

A couple of thoughts.....go big, order the metal tracks and replace, live with it, or try this clamp below. Clamp the two doors together before travel. If they're clamped together, the one shouldn't jump the track.

Lands,

Had the same problem on my 16 DSDP. My problem started when the screws holding the bracket hardware came loose and the inside door jumped the track. The track on my doors was plastic and was separated and broken. I ended up removing the door and repairing the bottom track. Haven't had any other issues since, but I check the bracket screws regularly for tightness.

If I had to deal with this issue again, I would buy the metal track and be done with it.

These are the photos I sent Newmar troubleshooting the issue and the info they sent me on how to remove the door.

Ours did the same thing, twice. Newmar replaced the first one under warranty. The price of the flimsy plastic piece of crap is $33.00 and when labor is added the end price is $188.00.
I removed my door and found a piece of cabinet grade birch in my shop. I measured the gap in the bottom of the door and it’s 3/4” wide and a little less deep. I don’t remember the exact measurement but, I cut grooves the exact width and used strong double sided tape to reinstall. I did use some parrifin wax to help ease the guides.
I have since bought a piece of 3/4” X 3/4” UHMW that should work even better. I have cut it and grooved it and am going to leave it on the coach. I paid $40.00 for a 5’ piece so I have an extra piece. I think it only takes 24”’s.
I’m getting a little tired of some of Newmar’s cheap fixes.
This goes along with the slideout motors.

I'm going to try to attach photos of my fix for this mess.
One is of the plastic track then one of the wooden track I made which is working great and one is of the UHMW piece.
I used woodturners double side tape to attach it to the bottom of the door. Click image for larger version

Billl…...I like you plastic track. Since there is no real pressure on the track, it shouldn't wear out. It will also be quiet, unlike the metal ones. It's time to gear up and make enough tracks to put a few up for sale. If I still had my 2014, I would buy one!

Why when Bill can make them, save someone hundreds on the tools, and Bill makes some travel cash!

I know you’ve never seen my shop but I have several routers, a shaper and every tool I need. The table saw was the simplest solution. I did make my own.
At Newmar prices you better learn how to make your repairs.
Now if I could figure out how to reattach the panel on a bay door that has come unglued? Customer service answer was tape it.
So until I either figure out a solution or they can work it into my appointment April 25 I used Gaffer tape.

Bill....for a long time, I had a roll of two sided tape used to install trim on car doors. I don't recall where I got it, but it was sure some strong stuff and never failed on things where I used it.
