Slow Close Seat for Dometic Toilet
I know many have wanted, looked for and even tried to modify a slow close seat that will fit the Dometic macerator toilets. The issue has been that the seat bolt spread is way off.
If some of you missed it, here is a post on a seat that works on the 8700 toilets. I just bought one to see if I like the quality. If I do, I'll order a second.

Thanks Don,
Looking forward to the follow-up.
I'll add this to my "to-do-list" for when I get home from Arizona.

Okay.....I got the toilet seat yesterday and went out today to see if I like it. It's a lightweight plastic, just like you would find on a plastic RV toilet seat. The other issue....it's bright white and the toilet is off white. I decided to return it to Amazon.

Don,
My coach is in storage so I can't check. What is the distance between the centers of the mounting bolts for the 8700?
Thank you,

The bolt spread is 7.5".

we're doing some remodeling on the house and I recently replaced a Bemis porcelain/wood slow close toilet seat available at Home Depot. I tossed it before I could get the exact measurements, but the hinges look close to the same as the Dometic seat and screw on the same way.
I'll do some more research and take measurements the next time I'm at Home Depot, but it looks like the slow close hinges would fit the Dometic seat.

Don I bought one while down in the OC at Ardemeco marine in Costa Mesa. They have the matching bone color, but they are plastic, no wood from
Dometic with slow close…. They are an awesome source for the 8700, very common in most nice boats…
