So how much has gas and diesel by you in last 90, days?

Is it just on Long Island New York or throughout the whole County...from late December 2020 gas prices here went from $1.98 a gallon to $2.59 as of yesterday.

Do I hear $3.00 by summer?

We left central Texas mid-Sept, gas was about $2.00 or less. Left the beet harvest in N Dakota about Oct 18 or so, $2.25. Arr North Caroline late Nov—- up, around $2.37. Recent week, North Caroline, about $2 70.

Just a few minutes with Google

$4.27 in US dollars to the gallon in Canada
$6.51 in England
$4.92 in Australia

The $2.50 I paid Saturday doesn't feel so bad now.

Here's a news article saying there may be $4 / gallon gas just in time for summer.

I’ll not be driving the MH to England or Australia, and can go into Canada 400 plus miles without refueling.

Well, of course. The last time I was in Canada I bought just enough to get me back to Maine.

The point was that gas is much higher elsewhere even as we're griping about high gas prices. But, then, you know that didn't you?

People are starving all over the world while we enjoy sufficient and affordable food supplies. Are you suggesting that we have no moral right to complain if central policies begin to shrink our food supply and raise prices? That we ought to be happy until that day when we can no longer feed ourselves at all, simply because someone somewhere has it worse?

I posted that I don't feel so bad after seeing prices elsewhere around the world, and somehow you got that?

Is there anyone on here who believed that gas prices were going to say in the low $2.00 range for years to come, or were you hoping that the pandemic would continue unabated, and therefore suppress the economy and the demand for gasoline?

Gas prices are primarily a function of supply and demand, and demand has increased substantially in the last few months, and increased production lags demand. Remember how gas prices took a nose dive during the Great Recession, and how they went back up as the recession ended? Pretty much the same thing is happening here and currently gas is still cheaper than in was in 2018-2019.
