The Essex fuel capacity is 150 gal vs 200 gal for the King Air. I didn't see any other changes but then again I was just speed reading. I am hoping Newmar releases the 2015 models soon. I guess some one didn't get the memo on the release dates. :-)

Weight ratings were a little different, not sure what actually changed to do that. KGDB GCWR is 5000# more.

KGDB has on-board Weighing system.

Hmm. Frame is different. Essex has raised rail, KGDB has Trussed.

I don't see how you could have a K3 that isn't a trussed/torque box design.

Diver, I'm thinking this may be Newmar's answer to the Cornerstone's claim to be built on a K-3. My understanding and examination of Cornerstone's chassis suggests they are doing a marketing gimmick and are not built on a true K-3. This may allow Newmar to compete on an equal basis, if they feel a need to.

That's what it says. The FLs have the passive steer now. And I think the weigh system is probably something added to the air suspension which measures the pressure in each bag to give you a per-wheel (or at least per corner) weight.

That was my whole point about the page being published prematurely.

If they put the K3 on the Mountain Aire as well, it would be a good alternate to the Cornerstone.

Maybe I wasn't clear on this. The new Essex K-3 is not a true, trussed frame design like the King, just as the Cornerstone IS NOT a true K-3. In the Industry it's called a "cheater chassis", because, while it has 600 HP, it isn't a complete K-3. This has allowed the Cornerstone to take market share from the Essex, so this allows Newmar to compete head to head. Personally, I think there is a lot more product differentiation, but those Entegra guys on the other board won't hear of it. But that's OK...we'll keep it a secret.

I believe this is just a typo on the Essex. It mentions 2014 and if you click on the archives it shows k2 for Essex.

I don't mean this wrong, or want to come across cocky, or want to start a Newmar-Entegra dispute, but I don't understand. Personally I don't care what you call the chassis the Cornerstone sits on, it has exactly what I want and it looks the way I want it to look. From the spec sheets of all of them the manufacturer tweaks all of them to meet their specifications.

The Newmar's to me are too flashy or feminine looking (maybe a bad word to use, canb't think of another at the moment) and just don't look like a place I want to stay in, but that is all personal preference. Pretty, but just not my style. With that said, would someone be so kind as to show me somewhere the true definition of a K-2 and a K-3 chassis is or is this just someone trying to say their chassis is better than another and unsubstantiated. If so, fine, go at it, but if there is fact to this I would like to see it. I've spoken to Spartan about this very issue a while back and they have assured me the Cornerstone is built on a "complete" and "true" K-3 chassis. Is this just your opinion or is there true fact to back it up, an industrial K-3 definition out there that Spartan or I haven't seen? If so would you pleased share it or are you just bashing another coach?

It did. It used to link to 2015 brochures. They sort of fixed it.
