Hi Doc! You never metioned the size and type of TV. We have two 32" LCD Sony Bravia TV's. Both have had excellant pics on all the feeds. The front one just started having poor reception when in the cable mode (rest of the coach great) It sounds as if you have a connection problem. I don't agree with Scott (sorry) about the cables. I have some tv's on Direct TV with RCA cable hook ups and they look great. Even hooked up with just a coax feed from the Sat you should get a great pic with the Sony TV. Scott, when we built our coach we had Newmar run RGB & Audio cables to al TV's (they screwed it up) We currently are using the KVH R6 Paul

Hi! I believe it is still a problem. Most coaches are being built with LCD TV's. Paul

Don't know about the Plasma but the LCD will turn black in outside bright direct sunlight. It will return to normal when sun is not directly on it.

Hi Paul...it's the standard sized on up front ??32 inch??? I wanted to check the cable connections from the video box but the folks at Newmar apparently connected all the cables to the box and then tied all the slack up in the front cap..I cant even get the box out of the compartment to look at it...also at the TV end, 2 of the screws holding the access covers are buried behind the electric sun shade, which will have to come down just to look. I brought it to my dealer 100 miles away with this issue and was told the reason it didnt look good was because that receiver didn't have a subscription and only got the preview channels! After I was told that I knew the level of their knowledge and moved on. Will probably let a video shop get into it with Newmar's OK...I dont know how ANYONE will be able to get to the back of the video box!!!

I also needed to check some of the connections on the back of my DVD but the lack of slack in the cables were a challenge. I ended up using a mirror to look at my connections on the DVD, it's not the best way to check but it did work.

Paul,

I can't believe you disagreed with me. I think your eyes are just bad from watching too many bad Jets teams on TV.

I think Paul was referring to a long post I did earlier about cables and improving your picture. What I forgot to mention in that post is that all Sony Bravia's are not created equal.

Sony's top of the line in TVs and other products is the XBR and now the XBR2. I didn't have Newmar put in my 32" TV because they pick the KDL line of Bravia. I bought the TV myself which I knew was the right one. My front, Newmar installed, TV is a KDL line and has a poorer non-HD picture.

One major difference is the upconverter for lower level signals. While an HDTV is great when showing HD signals, some are better at showing lesser signals (i.e. upconverting). The resolution is so great that a picture that looks great on a normal tube TV can look horrible on an LCD HDTV as it exposes the 480i resolution.

Hi Scott! That is really hitting below the BELT Especially coming from a Bills Fan I think we got a little off topic Doc's main question was should he have a good pic on his TV. Forgetting about cables he should have a good picture with his current set. Yes I get better quality with the better sets I have at home with HDMI cables installed. But the Bravia's in the coaches have a nice picture. He has a bad connection somewhere. There is no question HD Rules but, I was still getting good pics on my TV's in a non HD channel. Scott, are you going to drive down and watch the Bill's and Jets Play each other? With my bad eyes Misery Loves Company. Paul

Paul,

Actually I grew up in Michigan so I'm a Lions fan which has got to be the worst of all. However, now having lived in the Buffalo area for 3 years, I am a Bills fan by association.

I can honestly say the fans are as passionate as I've seen anywhere.

I will try to make it out for the game. The 2007 schedule isn't out yet is it?

You are more than welcome to come up here for the game but, I've never been to a Bill's game so I wouldn't be a very good host. Also, not sure it's safe to sit next to the opposing team's fans.

Hi! They announced the Opening Thurs, Sun nite and Turkey Day Games. The rest will be out in about 2 to 3 weeks. Jets play in Dallas on Turkey Day. We will be there and need advice where to go. Paul
