Spartan motor home chassis wasn't part of current sale

Had a call to Spartan and talked to Mike Butler there national sales manager and asked about the future for the motor home chassis for Newmar coaches. He shared with me that the current sale a Spartan didn't include the motor home chassis business and that their will be no changes to current chassis business. He said they are in full production with last model year being one of the best in the last 6 years.
We were concerned about Spartan chassis being available for future purchases and feel very comfortable about ordering a Spartan chassis for a future purchase. Would recommend if ordering a 2021 coach that Spartan chassis will be available.

Hi Tom, not quite following.
Are you saying you spoke to Spartan rep and asked him if due to the Newmar sale to Winnebago whether Spartan remains a Newmar chassis supplier in the future?

He's talking about Spartan's sale of their Emergency Response business to REV Group.

We are thinking of replacing our coach in 1 to 2 years. If we go with another Dutch Star we may have the choice between Freightliner and Spartan. Right now I am leaning towards the Freightliner again. We have been very happy dealing with Gaffney for all our work and have had no real problems with it.

It is good that Spartan will still be building the motor home chassis. Competition is good for the consumer. It surprised me that they sold their name. That didn't make much sense to me if they were just tying to streamline the business or pay down some debt. What I found interesting is that they mention moving to electrification and autonomous technology.

I think for them, Spartan had name recognition with the Emergency Response community as a direct purchase brand. So it makes sense the new company wants to continue marketing under that name.

Most of their other businesses aren't actually sold as the Spartan brand. Their trucks all have their own brand names. Their military stuff is easy to switch over.

For the RV business they retained the rights to use the name.
