Splash Guard HELP

I just purchased a new splash guard at CW with a piece of angle they said I needed to mount it when I got home thinking this was going to be an easy job but when I crawled under th MH I found it,s not going to be so easy!!! I can see no where to attach this angle where it won't hit the muffler. I would really like to hear from someone on how the installed theirs to make it work I own a 2001 Dutch Star DP pictures would also be a great help if posible
thanks in advance
Don

Unless I'm misunderstanding your question most rear full length flaps are attached by chain to the frame.
The flap is cut out for the tail pipe. The frame piece you refer to at the bottom of the flap, away from the exhaust.
I can send a photo if you'd like.
Maybe they gave you an assembly for a gas M/H.

Mine is held by chains attached from the chassis rails. Here is some discriptive installations.

Wink

Thanks for the info bigsky and 007 I had no idea you hung them with chains just never paid that much attention i guess. If you could send me a picture of how yours are hung and in what location it would really help.
Again thanks a bunch for the help. I'm new to this toad towing hope to be set up with everything in the next couple of weeks and head for the oregon coast for a 14 day Vacation.
Thanks
Don

My L/R mud flap interferes with the genny exhaust... while in motion.
A piece of flat sheetmetal and a few pop rivets later and all is good.

(After looking at all nasty job an R&R would be I decided this approach was just fine)

Hope this helps. BTW my airbags are dumped now or it would be sitting higher. If your main objective is protecting your toad I'd skip the full width flap and install a bra on the toad.

Bigskymt,

Thanks for the reply and the pictures, looks a whole lot easier than I first thought. I take it you don't think it will help much as far as keeping the rock chips off my toad?? A bra sounds like one more thing I need to add to my list.
Thanks again for pictures and advise
