Any fix for a squeaky slide? We test drove an '05 Dutch Star 4320. On smooth interstate the kitchen slide squeaked. Not too bad when sitting in one of the front seats, but it would be really annoying. We like the coach, but would have to know that this could be fixed. It has one year of warranty remaining.

Hi BCook57,
Are the slide locks engaged after the slides are retracted?

Bob welcome to the forum and good luck with your new Newmar to be.
As Gary says were the locks either electric or manuel closed when you drove the coach, salesman may have told you it was ok without locking.
The following LINK will tell you differently.
If the slides were locked the rubber seals may need some slide rubber lube because they maybe drying out some what. If slides are locked there will be some squeeking of rubber but not that bad.

Yes, the slides were locked with the automatic slide lock. I could stop the squeaking by putting downward pressure on the edge of the counter at the aft end of the slide - the end closest to the bedroom. This unit is for sale by a private individual, not a dealer. They have only used it twice in the year they have owned it, so weren't even aware of the squeak.
I'm just wondering how successful an attempt to "adjust" the slide would be in eliminating the squeak.
Another defect that is being fixed right now, is the proximity switch for the curbside rear slide lock. It won't allow the slide to open because the lock won't retract.
Thanks for your replies.

It could be the rear lock is not fully engageing the slot to lock. You can move slide out and stop it so you can gain access to lock and slot and lube both some have had problems with lock rusting up and need some lube.
As long as the coach is level and slides track straight in or out you should not have to adjust. When slides are closed and they are recessed into wall cavities all around they should be ok. If they are not you will have to check rollers and make sure they are on their brackets and not loose or the roller isn't broken.

Rather than put the pressure on youself for such a fix, I would suggest that you mention them to the seller and, if s/he wants to sell it, they should have it taken care of to your satisfaction.
