Status of Freightliner Flickering Dashboard Gauge Lights

Since I have not seen anything posted for a while, I talked to Freightliner Custom Chassis today about the flickering instrument gauge light bar in my 2106 Dutch Star. I first talked to them about this in December of 2015 which is a long time ago! I have been on their repair list for this for a long time but have heard nothing. I know there are a lot of other Owners who have posted here about the same problem.

I was told today that they have finally come up with a software fix that is now being tested. They told me that the problem they have is that the Freightliner dealers do not have the ability to change out the light bar software. So FCC is currently trying to come up with a way to change out the software on the large number of vehicles affected. They still have no procedure for Owners to follow to have the fix installed and no date of when they will have one. They realize that this the time this has taken is ridiculous.

Keith, This is great information.
Could you copy it over to http://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/dash-lights-flickering-264342-4.html
This is the thread that most of us are watching concerning this issue.

I am scheduled for service in Gaffney on May 1st and am hoping they are prepared to handle this by that time.

Hard to believe they haven't previously developed a way for users to do SW updates, never mind their own dealers

We are in Gaffney. They would not give a date for the new software or say all the problems the update will fix (other than the low battery alarm and the flashing dash). Probably because they are dealing with a vendor. We did get our windshield wiper software updated and the power steering hose recall fixed.

Attended Camp Freightliner while we were here. I thought it was very worthwhile and learned a lot in the class.
