Steer Tire Blowout with "Comfort Drive"
Has anyone experienced a steer tire failure on a coach with Comfort Drive ?
I was reading a thread earlier discussing the argument (Myth or Wisdom)
of accelerating vs steering wheel control only in response to a "blowout".
I reviewed the Comfort Drive Guide in the sticky portion of this forum, but no answer or opinion was given due to possible liability question as stated in the FAQ section.
Anyone out there with an opinion? Let me rephrase that, anyone out there with experience or a qualified opinion as to how the Comfort Drive would benefit, assist or effect the handling of these type situations?
Just wondering!

If you keep your tires always with correct tire pressures and no soft tires you will only need to look out for road hazards ahead of you.

Michelin recommends accelerating at first -- they have a video on dealing with blowouts on RV's.

We have had a right front tire blow out at 65 mph in our 04 Essex without Comfort Drive put with Safe-T-Plus steering system. Did over 20K dollars of damage and had steel belts in the coach as it ripped the area above the tire. Had full control of coach and was able to bring the coach to a safe stop. I was checking with them about if they had a system for the Comfort Drive steering and they said you don't need it and they didn't have anything for if you wanted it.

Absolutely DO NOT put both systems on the same coach! I guarantee they will fight each other resulting in poor control and more importantly will heat up the hydraulic system, possibly to the point of fire.

You will find many of these discussions in this link for Newmar Owners if you have not looked at it as many others do not like to look at stickies.
