Steinbring Motorcoach -OUTSTANDING!

Just wanted to give credit where credit is due. The service we received was outstanding. They are a real credit to the Newmar Corporation and a great resource for Newmar owners. Their reputation as one of the top dealerships and repair facilities in the country is not exaggerated.

A BIG thank you to the Service manager, Roger, and his crew! They treated us like family during our recent repairs. Paul and Susan

that’s good to know. I already knew about their quality sales staff, but hadn’t thought about service there.

I didn’t have the same experience. I wouldn’t let them change a lightbulb much less service my coach again.

Jon is a nice guy. I was ready to buy from him until covid changed his pricing and if went up a lot. I don’t blame him completely, more so newmar for their “allocation system”. But just out of principal, I won’t buy from someone who changes their discount.

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience there. We can only speak of ours.

We are full-timers on a summer-long cross country trip. When our windshield cracked, our insurance company was less than helpful in arranging replacement (which is a story for another thread). Roger stepped up, dealing with the insurance company and the insurance company's glass provider, and arranged for an experienced RV windshield replacement company to do the work at Steinbring's indoor facilities.

The week before we were scheduled to have the windshield replaced, another problem developed within the coach, and they worked us into their schedule while we were there. All the while, even though we had not bought our coach from them, telling us that we were Newmar family and they would take care of us.

They provided professional, efficient service at a very fair price, and quickly got us back on the road. They had electrical hook up for our overnight stay. Their lounge was beautiful, and even had a pool table, ping pong, foosball and exercise equipment, along with TV and wifi. We could not be more pleased with our Steinbring experience!

I’ll start of by saying we purchased from Steinbring.

This is the first time I’ve ever heard a complaint on their service.

Would you care to elaborate on your issues? And did you speak with Jon Steinbring while you were at the dealership? Jon and his staff have a reputation for not only a great sales department but service also.

I bought my coach from Steinbring. That experience was great. Service was not. I can’t at this time elaborate any further. I had extensive contact with the Steinbring’s. I would never go there for service again.

I have to echo ThunderRidge. When I bought my current coach there was a list of things that we agreed to and wrote into the sales agreement that were to be fixed. The sales experience was very pleasant. About six weeks later when I went to pick up the coach on the scheduled day none of those items had been taken care of. They did have the "full service" chassis maintenance done (it's far from full service...it's a lube and oil change). And it did have the new tires on we agreed to (unfortunately with 3 yr old date codes). But the list of issues to be fixed were not done and when I asked Randy about it as he took us through the walk-thru his response was "just because it's on the sales contract doesn't mean we have to do it." Of course I immediately got management involved. While they did fix some things, they refused others, like replacing one of the small bathroom fogged windows and a damaged slide-out seal, among some smaller cosmetic items, even though those were on the signed sales agreement. I left with a bad taste in my mouth as I'm a believer in meeting one's contract obligations, but it wasn't worth starting a lawsuit over.

It’s not just me and you. I personally know others with the same issues at Steinbring.

I would buy from Steinbring but not service there. I bought my used Newmar through Steinbring in 2018. For example, requested annual service on Oasis and when I went to DIY the next year it was obvious fuel filter had not been changed. Other items on the list I thought were agreed upon were not done. Very busy at that time going from working full time to RVing full-time and so did not check like I should have. The list of items to be done was long and 90% was completed.

I live in MN so Steinbring is my only Newmar option. I have had major service there three years straight after buying my coach from a private party. They have been friendly and generally good but not great. My last service was an expensive $3200 install (+ $1500 for fridge) of a residential refrigerator in August 2020. I had three issues with the install. The first was the fridge would not work on the inverter because they had forgot/miss-communicated that my coast WAS NOT all electric and didn't perform the connection to the inverter circuit. I requested that they send a remote tech the 2+ hours to fix the issue and they did. 2. They did not replace the silicone at the top of the window they removed to put the fridge through and I didn't notice it for 4 months while I was polishing it. 3. they did not clean up from the install as I found install debris on the floor that should have been vacuumed up.

I will say that they replaced their service manage in October of 2020 with an experienced RV Tech from California so fixing their service issues was recognized and a high priority for John Steinbring. I hope things get better as they are good folks and selfishly, my easiest choice for service.

Along with the negative, a positive: In my first two years I had a number of reasons to call and talk with Randy about coach issues (I did not buy from them) and Randy was exceptionally helpful at educating me on my issues and possible fixes.

Although our Bay Star was still at the former owner's residence, we technically purchased it through Steinbring, including the financing. In terms of processing the paperwork, they were excellent. And, the owner of our Bay Star was just a great guy and so helpful in the whole process. The owner of our Bay Star was in the process of purchasing a new DP through Steinbring and he was very happy with the purchase price, but this was back in the spring of 2018.
