Storage question

we Have a 2005 Mountainaire diesel pusher all electric coach
Right now the coach is in a heated shop and plugged into 30 amp shore power
We are moving in a May and our shop at the new place does not have electric or heat yet !
My husband is sick so is unable to help
I see in the engine compartment a switch that I thinks shuts off all power to the coach
Can someone tell me if this is correct
I will need to shut off all power to the coach for a few months until the new shop has power and heat

Thanks in advance

The switch in the engine compartment is likely associated w/the engine block heater and not what you're looking for.

To take power completely off without disconnecting the battery cables themselves there are 3 things I recommend:

1: Locate the battery ON/OFF switch in the chassis battery compartment and set it to OFF. The batteries are likely in the rearmost right side bay. It's probably a large, red rotary switch.

2: Just inside the entry door and to the left (forward of the passenger seat), there are likely a few buttons. Locate the one addressing the battery and also turn it to OFF. It may be labeled BATT. DISC. This is also called the salesman switch

3. Lastly, locate the inverter and turn it to OFF. The inverter is in the lower bays/basement and may not be easy to find. Mine is attached to the basement ceiling tucked in between the chassis I-beams and is not visible unless I crawl into the basement, but it can also be hanging in plain sight. It is a large, blue component likely by Victron Energy and will have the word "inverter" somewhere on it. You may also have a remote in the RV to turn it OFF, but it all depends on your equipment and configuration.

Take note and/or pictures of everything you do so your husband knows what to undo once he's able and you start traveling again.

In the end, if you're still unsure and can't find anyone to help, you can call a mobile tech that should be able to do it for you.

Good luck

The above advice is good, but there are items that are that never disconnect and will likely run the batteries down if left for several months. I would suggest having the batteries fully charged then have someone knowledgeable, disconnect the battery cables for the storage period. Also, if the several months extends into freezing temperatures, be sure it is adequately winterized which you have never done if you've kept in a heated building.

The only 100% way to be sure the batteries will not discharge is to make sure everthing is turned off , then disconnect them by removing the battery cable at the negative terminal. Take pictures before and after the cables are disconnected.

You don't necessarily need a 50A or even 30A outlet to plug your coach in and keep all the batteries charged. A standard 15A or 20A outlet will suffice, you would just need a dogbone adapter, similar to what you are using to plug the coach into a 30A outlet. This would be my first choice as opposed to turning everything off and hoping you got everything.
