Stupid Me: I mistakenly disconnected my QD 10kw Generator from the slide

I was changing the oil and filter on my diesel QD 10,000 generator and couldn't figure out how to get it to slide forward. For some reason, I mistakenly concluded that the four bolts underneath were preventing the generator slide from sliding forward. I removed the four bolts, then notice noticed the release at the back of the generator slide. When I the pulled the release, the slide came forward. After changing the oil and filter, I pushed the slide back in, and only then, did I realize that the generator had moved back on the slide so that the bolt holes on the bottom of the generator no longer aligned with the slots on the slide for the bolts to go through. I tried to wiggle the generator back into alignment, but is so heavy I could not move it forward enough to a reinsert the bolts , which I now realize are essential to securing the generator to the slide. I KNow this was sheer idiocy on my part. Anyone have any suggestions for moving the generator forward so I can bolt it to the slide?

Get some 2x4 or other blocking material to push against the back wall. Should not take a lot of pressure. Make sure it is evenly applied. Do this with the slide out, so that you are pushing the slide in against the pressure of the blocking material.

You can also raise the back end some on the jacks to get a gravity assist.
