Suggestions for a Monaco owner - Looking to buy diesel from the 2000's

I've heard many good things about Newmar quality.

I have a '98 Monaco Dynasty and I'm looking to buy something newer probably from the mid 2000's. My budget is under 100K - hopefully closer to 75K. I like the side radiator and cummins engine. It's been easy to do most maintenance myself. Monaco quality took a hit after 2008 I'm told.

Can you give any thoughts on an older, quality Newmar that might fit my price range?

Any Newmar models and/or years I should stay away from?

Any advise is appreciated. Thank you.

There are several places I would keep an eye on. Like https://www.motorhomesoftexas.com/ or https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/.
I would not limit my serch to Newmar. There are several quality coach lines out there.

Jeff, just for fun I went to RVTrader.com and did a search on Newmar DPs between the years 2000 and 2010 for <$100k. 66 results. Most were Dutch Star and most 2007 and older. There was a 2009 DS. There were a couple older Mountain Aires. Some models lower than DS.

IMO, once you are into 15 to 20 yo coaches I'm not sure how relevant any specific model year issue might be.

I think making sure the coach was well cared for with maintenance records, which may necessitate a private owner sale, is the best option. Also a very thorough inspection.

Best wishes in your search.

I would concentrate on the 2004 to 2007 model years. Pre emissions Cummins ISL - make sure ot is the VGT engine if looking at a 2004.

We just bought a 2005 Mountain Aire. We are very happy with it. The craftsmanship and quality have really held up well. You can find pre 2007 Mountain Aires within your budget. You can also find Dutch Stars within your budget. Both offer side radiators with Cummins engines. Most other pre 2007 Newmars will either be over your budget, like the Essex or will not have a side radiator like the Northern Star, Kountry Star or Ventana.

I don’t know this person, but I found this on Facebook Marketplace. It is similar to what we bought.

Thanks for the information. I'll reach out to that seller on Facebook.
