While going through the manual of our '99 Mountain Aire F 53 V 10 I noticed a surge protector on one of the electrical diagrams. Since I am a believer I went to the rig and looked for it but could not find one. Can anyone educate me please as to weather one might exist on this rig?

Is there any delay when you plug into a 50amp pedestal, or does the coach power immediately? If you have a power management/surge protection system they generally take 20 seconds to a minute before allowing power to enter the coach.

You should look in the brochure to see if it was a option,
My 99 did not have it but I installed one.
TSB Link top of forum stickies will get you brochure and owners guide. This link has some threads and types of surge protectors for your use.
