I had a MS 2012 that used that remote in my Airstream . It should not be a problem. Below is the information from the Magnum manual. You may want to call Magnum to be sure. My unit came with my 2014 Airstream. Both remotes should have RJ11 connector. So it is plug and play however you will need to program the new remote.
"Remote Control Installation and Wiring
The Magnum ME-RC Remote Control is simple to use and can be used on all
Magnum models (ME, MS and RD Series). An easy-to-read LCD screen and at a
glance LEDs display complete inverter/charger status. Soft keys provide simple
access to menus and a rotary encoder knob allows you to scroll through and select a
wide range of settings such as Inverter ON/OFF, Charger ON/OFF, Shore Power
Breaker Setting, AGS Control, Meter Button, Setup and Tech menus.
Simply mount the remote control in a convenient location using four mounting
screws (refer to the MS Series Remote Control Operator’s Manual).
Route the cable to the inverter following existing wire runs.
Connect the cable to the remote port on the inverter’s chassis."
Easy install.
