Just a note, the 2007 DSDP did not have Comfort Drive, only Mountain Aire and above.
In 2008 the DSDP got Comfort drive.

If you really feel that way about the Dutch Star then don't buy one. They (Dutch Stars) are a fine motorhome that are a favorite with many here on this forum. There are others out there that have really fancy stuff in them. Buy one and drive it on the interstates in Indiana and watch the cabinets fall apart, listen to the squeaks and then when you are ready to sell it, be prepared to take one in the shorts.
You get what you pay for. Not a finer motorhome builder in the business IMHO. Good luck with your motorhome search.

Another 4024 owner here.
Totally satisfied. If I was going to buy a new MH, I'd be looking at a new DS.
One thing that really stands out for me is how well insulated it is compared to other units I've owned.

Dutch Stars have been the mainstay of the Newmar lineup for years has survived many other coach's in Newmar lineup that no longer exist.

Couldn't help but notice your boat behind your mh. I have one possibly about the same size. I used to tow and launch with a shorter Winnebago, which worked fine. I am concerned that it would be very difficult to launch with a 40 foot mh. So I'm wondering if you use your mh to launch or have a different vehicle for that purpose or perhaps the boat get slung in?

I am not aware of any tag axle 40 ft Dutch Stars. I recommend that you spend some time on research of what was available in the years of your interest. We have a 4306 and love the extra 3 ft and tag axle that comes with it. I believe that Newmar made some major changes in the Dutch Star line up in 05 and there a lot of differences in standard equipment and exteriors. There is a 2004 40 ft,parked in front of our 2007 model and I see a number of differences with the exterior. Not sure when they started with the ISL but I would not consider one with a smaller engine. No bad experiences to report.

Owned other brands, recently reviewed entegra and the tour against dutchstar. There is a reason people like myself have converted to newmar and especially the dutchstar.
If you want quality and plan to drive your unit and use it you can't go wrong with the years this model has proven to be the winner.

Don't you have a 4320? A very nice DSDP indeed.
Yes...there are some 40' DSDPs with a tag. Oddly enough there is no 43' model in the 2009 brochure, no 2010 brochure at all, and then in 2011 they went from 37-43' with the 40' models having a tag. I think that was to overcome the new DEF/emissions engines.

The only thing bad I have to say about the Dutch Star is that it is so much fun......I'm rarely home.

We had 2 Kountry Star 5th whls, and a Mountain Aire MH. You will be happy with a Newmar. We loved them.

We have an older one. Will definitely buy a newer one when we're done with this one

Sorry, we have an 05 KSDP 3910. Not a DS, but it is really great. The DS is a step up, so really, if the unit itself is good, you can't go wrong.
