Talk us out of buying the Dutch Star!

We love the Dutch Star! Can you give us the skinny... Both good and bad? We're looking at 2005-2007, tag model 4024 if we can find one.

Thumbs up

I have a 2006 DSDP 4024 and love it. The only negative I can think of is the Refrigerator. I will change that soon, so I can only give you a very high recommendation for your choice. Good Luck and Many happy miles.

I don't think you'll find to many dissapointed DS owners. Nice coach for sure and why not it's a "Newmar".

You're among the Converted here. Not too many dissatisfied DS owners.

It really doesn't matter which coach you go with if it hasn't been taken care of. Although I'm a Dutch Star DP owner, I wouldn't of bought ours if it didn't have all it's records, and I could verify all maint. had been done.

We bought ours last year and have not had much oppertunity to enjoy it as yet but so far we are very pleased with our purchase. Ours is a single axle, don't think the 4024 for the years 2005-07 were available with a tag axle but I could be wrong.

Welcome to the forum and IRV2.
Here is a Brochure for 08 with Comfort drive and Owners Guide if your going that high the CD for a little more would be my choice for the money.
If you incise here is Brochure for 07 and Owners Guide.
In QT's # 3 there are threads on what people went through in buying new coach's that might help you in your decisions.
Good luck in your quest and remember its a Newmar.

We have a 2005 DSDP 3810 and really love it. Bought it in late November and picked up in December. I am amazed on the amount of storage and weight capacity. Drives super and the only suggestion I would have for you, if you can afford is to look at a 2007 or 2008 ... with comfort drive. The unit is great for fulltiming and you will not go wrong.

Happy Rv'ing

Hmmmm, you want me to talk you out of it. Well I can't speak specifically to the DutchStar but I owned a 07 Ventana and these are the things I didn't like about:

1) Lack of Windows
2) Lack of windows led to lack of ventilation
3) AC's were not up to snuff
4) TV position (will never own another coach with TV not a eye level)
5) Front Entry (okay almost all DP's have these but I am just not a fan)
6) The bedroom was too large / wasted space. I prefer more space in the living area.

Other than that I will say that Newmar built the best all-around quality coach that I have owned (it even trumped a Monaco IMHO).

So as long as the floor plan works for you (all of the above were floor plan complaints sans the lack of AC power) then I say go for it. Their coaches are top-notch

Forget the Dutch Star and buy a new Entegra or a Winnebago Tour!

You won't regret it.
