I just finished mine. First, I am NOT a cabinet maker and I did this with just the tools I have aboard my coach except for a borrowed router to trim the laminate. Overall I am fairly pleased with the installation.

Touchstone 23401 Whisper Lift, two 12"X12"X30" unfinished birch cabinets, miscellaneous lumber, Touchstone 30" electric fireplace, one sheet of 1/2 clear plywood, plastic laminate, some minor electrical work and a few days to put things together.

Video of the finished project with the electric fireplace installed - CLICK HERE. At some point I will visit a cabinet shop and have another piece of Corian made to replace the laminate top. But, for now it'll stay this way.

Ditto, very nice!

Why did you pick this lift, its pretty pricey compared to a few others I seen on Amazon. Also version of the 23401 model is it?

Thanks!

I wanted the lift to last. Touchstone makes an excellent product. Yes, pricey by any standard but since the unit is hidden and my only option for access is via the hole the fireplace fits in, I wanted to insure that I don't have to access the lift because of failure. Also, I bought a re-furbished unit for less than half that cost and the same warranty as new. As far as version, I got the optional flat lift roller.

I picked this particular lift because of the height of our window frame.

Hope that answers your questions.

Buried deep in Touchstones website there is a link for refurbished units. It is at the bottom of the home page. Left side: https://www.touchstonehomeproducts.c...ric-fireplaces

I don't see any refurbs listed right now, just their fireplaces at the moment. I would call Touchstone, they are very helpful.
