Televator TV Is Not Coming On
My Sony televator TV in the living area of my 2015 Newmar Dutch Star will not turn on. My last trip out in September it worked good as new. I'm not aware of anything that may be causing the problem. I do not have the installation/manual with me, so cannot know where the power cord is. I have some space to reach behind it. I see and can reach one outlet directly behind it. There's one cord plugged into it...it is folded and strapped and fixed to the wall, never used. I don't know where the power cord comes from the TV and have no idea where it is plugged in. I see there are many cables and outlets under the kitchen sink. I'm hoping it's nothing more than an unplugged power cord. I'd be grateful if someone can offer some help. Thanks, Larry

Larry, Not going to be a lot of help, but the Televator uses a separate power source/plug in my VTDP. Without knowing your floor plan, I can't help with the undersink wires and cabling... If the single plug in you see is beneath the TV (behind my jackknife couch), it is probably the TV power plug, connected through the inverter. Presuming your televator is working, then you have verified inverter power. Make sure the batteries in your remote are also working...which may be the simplest issue, or do you have a way to turn the TV on without a remote?
If you still can't turn it on...the TV may be dead...and you can replace them fairly easily for a couple hundred bucks (same size, new TV, self install)...using a Best Buy or another source. Installation isn't hard, but if not your thing, consider NIRV or another company...maybe even the place where you might purchase a new TV if that is where you end up.

JD...your response did the job for me! I found that the cord to the "box" (to inverter?) had unplugged from the "box" and was lying on the floor, leaving the the other end of the cord plugged into the outlet behind the TV. Resulting in several bruises, I managed to retrieve the "box" and plug the cord back into the "box", and with use of large pieces of industrial strength velco, I attached the "box" to the wall beside the outlet. All's working fine now, thanks to your help, JD.

JD, Now that I have my TV up & running, I’m curious why I can’t connect a Roku player to it for streaming. I’ve plugged the Roku stick into the HDMI port of the TV (Sony “Smart”) and the USB into the 110 outlet. The TV does not respond to the Roku player. I’ve spent much time & tried all I can think of. I’m wondering, JD, if that “box” at the rear has anything to do with my Roku not working? Do you have a Roku player connected to your TV?

Yes, we have Roku on two TVs. Our Sony TV is different than home for inputs, we use broadcast TV in RV mostly, then either BluRay or Roku. We find Roku input buried in a mess of inputs. When you select inputs, we see Roku after we scroll to the right a bit.
You might verify the Roku works on an easier TV, then make sure it is getting 110 power from the outlet you want to use.

JD…where I’m wintering there’s poor internet service for my TV, iPhone & laptop, using my Personal Hotspot. I’m planning to purchase internet service shortly, but in the meantime I suspect that’s the reason my Roku won’t work. Strange Roku did not mention that requirement in its literature. If I purchase & can get a decent connection I believe my Roku will work. Thanks for being there.
