I believe I've found a replacement 48" LG Smart TV (LG OLED48C2AUA) for the televator position. It's only $1200 @ Costco!!! (I know, it's RVing!)
Dimension wise it will fit.

My concern is the current Sony weighs 27.8 lbs.

The LG (though smaller) weighs 32.8 lbs.

Is the extra 5 lbs too much additional weight?

Called Newmar parts & they will not give me the name of the televator manufacturer, but would give me their part # of 142227. Waiting on my Newgle credentials to be verified to see if Newgle would give me more information.

If you can't find specs on the televator, you might try adding some weight to the existing arrangement to see how it handles it. You could even just apply pressure with your hands while raising it to see if it stalls out or not.

I thought about placing a 5 lb bag of sugar to the top & monitor it as it rises, but am hesitant to do that. I don't want to replace the televator as well.

You will be fine. The lift can handle that. Thing that might get you is the width of the opening. Make sure you can clear that. And it's going to be a lot of modification to the bracket. Good luck. That is a great TV.
