Tents for Troops - FREE camping for active military members

I just started volunteering for T4T (website below). More than 300 campgrounds & RV parks in the US & Canada offer FREE camping for active military members through T4T. It’s a wonderful program that was posted on the Newmar newsletter and this irv2 article- Newmar to Partner with Tents for Troops Organization | iRV2 Forum. Thanks to Newmar as well as many other individuals and businesses for their support!

Please see Tents for Troops. As the website states: “The best way to help promote the growth of Tents For Troops is word-of-mouth. Recommend the site to any active military you know. If you personally know an RV park/resort or campground that may be interested in joining, please get them in contact with us (or us with them)! We hope to have multiple places to stay per state as soon as possible - and that can be made much more possible with your help. Help us get the word out!”

There’s a Facebook link on the website. Please also see their new Pinterest page that I'm managing and let me know if you have questions or suggestions - www.pinterest.com/t4troops22/boards/ For those who are not familiar with Pinterest… it’s free and you have to join, but they don’t send ads. They do send suggestions, many of which are helpful.

Thanks!
Linda

What a great idea. Maybe it should include veterans also?

Thanks for the link, 007. I wasn't sure how to post to multiple forums.

Thanks also for the other suggestions. I believe that active duty is all that they can offer now because of limited resources. The hope is to get the word out so many more campgrounds will participate. The founder of T4T, Charlie Curry, also mentioned that he's working on getting donations of used RV's to place in the parks for the program. The military participants have been delighted with the program. Several have said that this was the first vacation that they've had in years!

Regarding Jerry's question about volunteering: DH and I are getting ready to drive to Newmar tomorrow for our factory delivery, so I don't have time to do much more than social media now. For the moment, I offered to speak to campground owners and hosts, as well as anyone else who may be interested. T4T is hoping that social media such as irv2, Facebook, Pinterest, etc, will generate more interest. Charlie Curry can probably offer more suggestions. Please see the T4T website for his contact info. I'll also send updates when possible.

Thanks for your help!!
Linda
