The A/C Test

Brought the coach home today and decided to do an unscientific test. Using one of those indoor/outdoor thermometers I let the front unit run on cool mode for 15 minutes and inserted the sensor wire in one of the front output ducts. The temp got down to 58.1 degrees. Inside the coach was 86 degrees. Outside temp was 90. I turned the front unit off and turned on the rear one. After 15 minutes, it was not cooling at all. If in fact, it showed a .4 degree increase over the room temp. I blocked off 3/4 of the output ducts and went back to just the front unit. After about 7 minutes, the temp coming out of the vents in the bedroom was 65. Looks like we will be using the front one next week, with a small fan to circulate the air.

Gonna find out what the cost difference is for the 15K heat pump. Unless it is a bunch (over $500), I’m going with the high capacity. It’s better to have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it. Mr Upgrade strikes again!

Hardly any difference to add the heat pump on the Coleman brand, don't know what u have but check with them.

I have two 15k's, and one 13.5k, and to be honest, I don't think the difference in output would be worth anywhere near $500!
