Theater Seating

Just installed new theater seating in our 2017 Newmar Dutch Star. We had ordered it back in October of last year.

I would like to do the same as my recliners are starting to flake. I have the queen sleeper sofa on the passenger side. I am concerned about doing what you did and not having a walkway to the back when the slides are in. Did that become an issue? Do you happen to have a picture with the slides in? Thanks.

Tigerfan, If you look at the before and after pic it looks like he lost about 3in. The booth seating sticks out farther than the recliner

Looks great. Considering the same option for our New Aire. Absolutely hate the 87” Flexsteel sofa/bed.

I was worried about the wall variances and switches. Looks like it works.

I plan to do this same project on my 2020 DS 4081 this fall. One question I have, can you get the old sofa out the door or did you need to remove a slide or the windshield. Both scare the daylight out if me.

The sofa comes apart for removal.

We would like to remove the two recliners and add the theater seating. Did a company do the swap for you or did you handle it yourself? Thanks

We swapped out our couch for theater seats last month. The couch was not very comfortable and we have never used the airmattress.

The new theater seats fit perfectly and it is almost a perfect match to the interior. They are very comfortable, full electric recline and nice storage for the remotes and laptop.

Ordered it at the Tampa Supershow in January. Installed early May.

The installer did a great job using heavy thru bolts. He mentioned the couch was factory installed with #8 wood screws in the floor. Yikes.

We bought it from Galstop in Fort Lauderdale and they did removal and installation. Only took a few hours. We were lucky that thier shop was only a few miles from our RV storage making logistics a non-event.

Still have the couch in my warehouse with the ottomans. Practically brand new.

I was looking at theater seats but didn't want to lose the center space. I read that you have to be 3" from the back, which would be the valences, has any one had the side valence shorten so the theater seats can be closer to the wall? Can anyone recommend some near Newmar that would do it.
