Thickness of Compartment Flooring for Slide-Tray?

I got a slide-tray from a neighbor who can't use it anymore. How thick is the floor and what length of lag bolt can I use without the possibility of damaging anything?

Mine (2003 Dutch Star) is 1 3/4 inches thick, with the bottom being thin metal cladding over insulation. I built two slides and thru bolted them bolting up to the inside. Was a pain as holding bolt and nut took some dexterity, but didn't trust lag bolts in what appeared to me as not overly substantial.

I made one myself from wood, which is lighter than the metal version. I used lag bolts, but I do take care to keep only light items on the slide tray when it is fully extended. Truth be told however, after alot of planning and work, I am not sure it was worth the effort. Sliding trays take up storage space, and even though it is safely installed, I still find myself reaching into the compartment to drag things out, instead of extending the slide...

The tray I have fits perfect in one of my bays. I plan on putting our chairs, mats and other short items that I want contained. I was also thinking of adding some height to the tray depth itself with some aluminum or wood. I may even divide it up in sections.
I have so much extra space that I need to plan to keep everything contained where I put it.

I temporarily put some lag bolts to get the tray set up. I then drilled a pilot hole to see how long of bolts I needed. I will need at least 3" bolts.

Will there be anything (wires?) between the two layers of material I need to worry about? I was surprised how thin the top wood layer was.
