Think Newmar installed wrong water pump

I just took delivery of our new 2015 Dutch Star. I ordered it with a upgraded water pump. Newmar part number 76600.

I just looked in the water bay and the water pump says "55 Aquajet" on it. It also says 3.4gpm and 6.5amps on the housing.

Can somebody who has just taken delivery of a 2015 DS with the standard water pump tell me what the water pump specs are please?

I am thinking that this IS the standard water pump and not the upgraded model.

Thanks. AdilClick image for larger version

The one that "007" posted is what came stock in my 2014 Dutch Star. I replaced it with the Flojet VSP.

The Aquajet ES is an upgraded model. There is a higher flow Aquajet model, but it does not work well with coaches without a Monoblock plumbing ( Essex and King Aire). It is higher flow and quieter then the standard Flojet.

Thanks to all of you for the clarification. When I looked on my specials sheet it said part number 76600. When I looked up that part it had a higher gpm rating. But as one of you stated, that particular pump is not compatible with the Dutch Star plumbing.

I like the pump they put in my coach except that it is quite loud. I was expecting a bit quieter. But on the flip side, it does a great job of keeping up water demand. In other words, one person can be in the shower while somebody does the dishes and it keeps up just fine.

We just took our maiden voyage this past weekend. The pressure was so much better with the pump that I just kept filling the internal tank instead of running off of the city water. CG had lousy pressure.

Is it a easy modification to have a auto fill valve for the fresh water tank? I'd love to have that feature.

Thanks again.

With regard to your pump noise. Is there flexible tubing on inlet side of the pump? Is there a loop of flexible tubing on the outlet side? Loop on outlet side really helps to dampen noise. Another thing to look at, is the screws on the rubber mounts may be over-tightened. If over-tightened they make the rubber mount more rigid than the pump designers calculated. Easy to over tighten at the factory with the power tools. Good luck!

Needed to replace my pump (04) DStar. Counldn't find the exact replacement. Company says they don't make the 5.7gpm. (Guy I know at Camping World called the company. Called Newmar and asked them what pump they were putting in new coaches. Tells me the 3.5gpm is going in all the coaches, I ask if they have any complaints, says no. I think I will rebuild my old pump and re-install. Yes, the newer pumps are nosier. Also, the new pump is either all on or off. No adjustment pumping as max pressure is reached.

The Aquajet ES (3.5 gpm) and RV (5.3 gpm) are variable speed pumps. The 5.3 gpm pump works best on coaches equipped with Monoblock plumbing system. As far as I know, the Shurflow variable speed pumps have been discontinued.
