Thoughts after annual trip in Ventana

For the last 12 years my DW and I have taken an extended trip in Aug and Sept to escape the heat in Ark. For 11 of those years it was in a Tiffin Phaeton. First a 40' then a tag 42'. Just got home from 14 states in 8 weeks and wanted to share some thoughts.
Kept a mileage record for my 4037 pulling a 4 door F-150 through the mountains of the west and got 6.6 MPG.
Drove several days across Nev; Utah; New M; and Texas in high winds and can tell you the comfort drive is a real game changer. Will never go back to a Tiffin.
Not related to Newmar but I found the roads to be good in all but 2 states, Utah and New Mexico.
Almost made the trip without a hiccup. Two days from home had a water hose burst under the kitchen sink(will be working on this at home) and woke up to a flat on right tag.

Dw and I both agree that the Ventana is a great MH and look forward to many more trips in it.
Bill

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip while escaping the AR heat. We have a slightly older and shorter Ventana and are still HavingABlast. Thanks for the report.

It's great to travel in any of the Newmar motor homes. We have been in every state of the union except for Hawaii and that completed one item on our bucket list.

Sounds like a great trip and just an FYI on the busted hose, there's another thread on here with that problem and it was said to be caused by wear from bringing the slide in and out.

Kevin, the other post about the busted water hose was mine. I will be posting on what I find with pictures on the first rainy day that I have to tackle that job. Bill

I don't suppose all the pex comes back to a single manifold where you could easily shut off a single line.
