One more suggestion about starting and idling on diesel engine is to use fast idle after engine starts up. When idling of diesel engine it is best to have the engine on fast idle which is around 1000 RPM were low or regular idle is in the 700 to 800 RPM. Your engine will warm up quicker warm up, build up air pressure quicker and less fuel wash on cylinder walls. To use fast idle after engine starts up push cruise control on button and then push set button to bring idle up. When ever needing to idle for sometime again best to use fast idle. To cancel just step on brake or push on/off button to bring to low idle.
